We spent a day conquering our fears and playing in the tree canopy at Boundless Adventures. Located in the 200-acre Bristol Woods Park in Kenosha, WI is the ropes and zip line park of Boundless Adventures. The aerial adventure park features 9 courses that include 100 rope bridges, 19 zip lines, and 3 leaps of faith. Just an hour’s drive from Chicago and thirty minutes from Milwaukee, this is a great family-friendly day trip.
Our family has a range of comfort levels with a high ropes course and zip lines. We loved that Boundless Adventures offers a variety of courses for each skill level. There are Beginner (yellow), Intermediate (green), Advanced (blue), and Expert (black) courses. You start off on beginner or intermediate and must complete one of those before advancing to more advanced courses.
We booked a three-hour experience at Boundless Adventures. The first step was to get fitted with a full-body harness that came with two Clic-iT Smart Belay devices. Boundless Adventures utilizes a network of cables between utility poles and trees that participants clip in with the Clic-iT device and their harness. This coupled system is a redundant system to make sure you are always connected to the ropes course with at least one connection by typically two. We spent a few minutes with the staff learning how to connect to the cables and disconnect safely.
